Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Construction Management
We are offering the opportunity for those holding a HNC in Construction since 2018 to top-up their qualification to a HND in Construction Management in the same course specification.
Due to course structure changes, students wishing to progress to the new HND from the current HNC qualification would need to undertake additional work. In order to avoid this, this course will be offered as a one-year course from January 2024 until January 2025.
This course offers a supportive environment with units spread over the year to help students achieve this qualification. This course is also the foundation for progression to a full Bachelor’s degree for those looking to continue their academic journey.
In this course you will develop knowledge and understanding around key topics in Construction Management.
The course has been developed to meet the needs of industry and the curriculum has been planned to reflect working practices. Contact with employers is a key part of this, including live briefs, industry seminars and conferences.
Students are encouraged to seek placement work to enhance their employability and are supported by a dedicated HE Careers & Graduate Outcomes Officer.
This course will support your career in management roles within the construction industry.
Students are also able to top-up this qualification to a Bachelor’s Degree.
Teaching consists of lectures and seminars, workshops, group work and tutorials. These are designed to build autonomous and independent learning facilitating development of academic skills, experiences and techniques.
Live briefs and visits enable students to engage with industry and employers while the VLE supports and extends the learning experience. Assessment is through coursework and portfolio building.
There are two units that will be taught via blended learning (both online and face-to-face) in the summer term between May and September.
Students will benefit from our cutting-edge facilities, small student groups and extremely supportive, industry-experienced teaching staff.
Entry onto the course will be via a successful interview for those already holding a HNC in a relevant Construction discipline.
