HND Construction Management (Construction Site Supervisor)
Some of our courses have been accredited by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education as HTQs. This means that the qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses, so that our students get the specific training, knowledge and skills required for their chosen career.
The Level 5 units prepare students to move on to specific areas of construction management at Level 6 or to enter employment with the qualities and abilities necessary for roles that require personal responsibility and decision making.
Students will be able to develop and apply their own ideas to their studies, to deal with uncertainty and complexity, to explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation and use both theory and practice in a wide range of construction situations.
By the end of Level 5, students will have a sound understanding of the principles in their area of specialist study and will know how to apply those principles more widely in the business world.
The course has extensive use of case studies, projects, guest speakers and practical assignments.
The teaching team has diverse experience in a variety of Construction professions including management, design and surveying. This equips it with the expertise to deliver the multidisciplinary elements of the HND programme ensuring students receive a high-quality teaching and learning experience that prepares them for a range of careers in the sector or progression to further study.
Workshops and tutorials are available to all students in addition to the formal teaching sessions.
The programme contains enrichment sessions which will include a series of guest speakers from the Construction industry and visits to relevant Construction companies and organisations throughout the academic year.
Students are encouraged to become student members of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
