This course will give you a firm foundation to progress to an undergraduate degree in any of the following areas: Construction Project Management, Project Management, Land Surveying or Surveying and Mapping Sciences.
You will be learning and getting assessed on 8 units spread evenly over the period of the programme:
This course is designed for those already in work but can work for those seeking to get into work in the built environment.
There are planned site visits and field trips on this course to expose students to typical civil engineering projects. Live construction projects are used as case studies and scenarios for assessments. Integrated into the course are guest speakers from professional industry bodies and companies.
Progression to HND Construction Management England (Construction Site Supervisor).
This course can lead to roles such as: Land Surveyor, Construction Manager, Project/Site Manager, Supervisor or Engineer, Health and Safety Manager
Lectures, Seminars and Industry Workshops, Tutorials, Practical Field Surveys, 2D & 3D Modelling, Virtual / Remote Learning, Site Visits.
Assessments shall include course work, written assignments, project reports, presentations, professional discussions, engineering surveys and portfolios of evidence.
In 2021, a £9m Construction Centre – was completed to enhance the design and delivery of our comprehensive suit of construction courses from L2 to L5.
Teaching and learning will also take place at UCO a fantastic Higher Institution in its own right in the heart of Oldham.
