Gail is a Senior Lecturer and has a wealth of teaching experience, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was recently appointed Faculty Lead at UCO. Gail has a background in Early Years practice starting her career as an NNEB working in the community, for many years in the Bangladeshi Women and Children’s Welfare Project and later establishing Chorlton Parent’s Support Group and one of Manchester’s first ever After School Clubs.
Gail has worked in Education since 1994 in FE supporting Advanced Diploma’s, Access Courses and Foundation Degrees. Since 2005 she has successfully built Education and Early Years courses in HE in Oldham. Gail has contributed to the development of Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree with University of Huddersfield and written degrees at UCO that have been successfully validated, for example, the current Education and Early Years BA (Hons) validated by UCO’s partner Sheffield Hallam University.
Gail has collaborated with a variety of research initiatives in Oldham, and the Education and Early Years Team have been selected to present their paper “The Power of Play in a Teaching Excellence Framework” at The Neon Summer Symposium 2019, the UCLan CELT Teaching and Learning Conference 2019 and 2019 UCO Annual Research and Scholarly Symposium.
