Chris Couch

Academic Development

Chris is studying for a PGCE in Lifelong Learning at UCO and is currently placed in the university’s Academic Development department. He studied Philosophy at UCL and was formerly an Associate Lecturer in Philosophy at Bridgewater College. In 2017, Chris was awarded a masters scholarship by CEU (Budapest), where he completed a dissertation on contemporary political realism.

Chris is an experienced content writer who has authored numerous educational resources for GCSE/A Level Religious Studies and Philosophy. He has also previously been employed to design critical reasoning tasks for students preparing to sit Medicine and Dentistry admissions tests (UCAT, BMAT, HPAT).



Research Activities

Chris is currently investigating the role of critical reasoning in academic development. He will be running a regular writing workshop at UCO over the spring and summer terms.
