CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification develops the critical knowledge and skills needed by all accountants to succeed in modern businesses. The first part of the full CIMA qualification is the Operational level. This puts an emphasis on making key short-term decisions while working with others in a business. You will also learn how to use data and tech tools to create short-term action plans.
The course will be of interest to anyone who wishes to develop their career in management accounting and who has previously completed an accounting qualification such as AAT Level 4. Students may already be working within an accounting function, or may aspire to such a role. The course is designed to use the experience of students to enrich the learning and to allow students to apply the learning from the course directly to their own experience in the workplace.
Delivered part-time, using a mix of face-to-face and online learning, the course is designed to fit around the commitments of full-time employment.
The course is designed for people currently in employment and looking to upskill or retrain. Students will be supported to use their experiences in the workplace to inform discussions and learning and will also have the opportunity to directly apply their learning from the course to their work, adding immediate value to their employer.
The CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting provides students with the knowledge and skills to develop their career in management accounting. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to progress on to the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (Management Level).
The course will be delivered by UCO’s expert accounting tutors, who have a wealth of experience in accounting roles, teaching and supporting students to succeed. Classes will be delivered face-to-face, enhanced by additional online resources and tutor support. All units are assessed externally by CIMA and students will need to book and pay for their exams themselves. Tutors will advise on when and how to do this at the appropriate time.
All CIMA approved study materials will be provided and students will have full access to UCO’s extensive academic library, academic development team and online resources.
