FdA Business and Management validated by University of Bedfordshire
A contemporary course, which reflects the dynamic business environment and the digital nature of business today. The programme has been developed to address local and regional skills needs, with a focus on the employability of graduates, by developing skills such as project management, entrepreneurialism and digital literacy. Throughout the programme, there is a focus on digital skills and the use of technology to support learning. Much of the programme involves working in small groups, in which students develop key transferable skills such as communication, leadership, negotiation and decision making. The programme aims to instil positive work attitudes and ethics into students, by encouraging them to think as managers, rather than students. Students are immersed in real-world business issues in modules delivered by tutors with extensive academic and industry experience.
The foundation degree aims to bridge the gap between students with level three qualifications or business acumen/experience and academic skills, knowledge of theory and professional behaviours required to successfully contribute to business organisations. Students studying the programme develop the skills, attributes and behaviours employers require.
After completing the course, students will be well prepared to continue their education by studying a final year top-up degree to full BA (Hons) which can then lead to postgraduate study, or to enter the workplace in a diverse range of careers, including management, human resources, marketing and administration.
